Mr. Kunz is the founder and sets the vision and direction for the US High Speed Rail Association (USHSR). A long time high speed rail advocate, Mr. Kunz brings 30 years of successful business experience to USHSR - and provides senior leadership and an ambitious vision for sustainable transportation in America. This vision includes a 17,000 mile national high speed rail network built in phases and slated for completion by 2030.
Mr. Kunz is a national award-winning designer with a background in urban design, community planning, landscape architecture, and sustainability. He has designed a wide variety of projects including a number of new towns and transit oriented developments. Mr. Kunz travels widely and has served as an expert in a number of forums. He speaks extensively at leading conferences and events on transportation and planning topics, and has provided keynote presentations on high speed rail and sustainability in international conferences in numerous countries (most recently Paris, Amsterdam, China, Spain, Canada, etc.).
Mr. Kunz has appeared on NPR, CNBC, Fox News, The Weather Channel, and the Bill Press Show. Mr. Kunz has been interviewed and/or quoted in numerous publications including the New York Times, CNN, The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Seattle Times, Global News, China Daily, Time Magazine, Huffington Post, and others. As an authority on high speed rail, Mr. Kunz is committed to further developing USHSR and the high speed rail network in America.
Mr. Kunz holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, and a Master of Urban Design from the University of Miami.
